Nancy Gerber, Our official Relationships Expert says:
Whenever we're nervous about meeting someone new, or facing a challenging situation, we often hear the encouraging phrase, 'Just be yourself!' It's a common belief that being ourselves is easy. Actually, it's one of the most difficult things in the world.
We usually act on beliefs and values that originate with family; others come from educational experiences, religious institutions, jobs, friends, the media or social groups.

What a great question! Being yourself means
1. that you have to know all parts of yourself
2. be willing to let them all co-exist
3. be okay with not liking all parts of yourself
4. not judge yourself too badly for the parts that you don't like
5. look for ways in which the parts you don't like can be useful to you - SUCH AS BEING ABLE TO SHOW COMPASSION, BE EMPHATIC, TOLERANT AND THEREFORE BE IN A RECEPTIVE PLACE TO MAKE AND KEEP RELATIONSHIPS.
