Babies know Him still, their memories not fully gone. Their sparkling eyes hold a secret knowing of their former home. Beings of love, light and innocence they descend into a world clothed in mortal flesh. Masking the magnitude of their greatness; hiding the resplendence of their form. Only in the eyes – the windows to the soul -- does the flicker of eternity remain.
As we progress through life, we forget who we are – children of God, with a divine destiny and purpose. Mortal voices tell us:
You can’t do that.
You must do this.
You have to make money.
You need more things.
There isn’t enough for everyone.
You must fight for your share.
You are ordinary.
You are imperfect.
You are flawed.
You are wrong.
You must conform.
You have failed too many times.
You aren’t good enough.
You must work harder.
God can’t use you anymore.
And memory fades, eternity becomes a fable.
You have become human.
But occasionally there is a flicker, a flash of greatness which rises to the surface, but you push it down. You mustn’t stand out. It would be vanity to rise high. It would harm the others if you shone too brightly, and you don’t want to make anyone feel bad. Who are you to dream of such things? It’s too hard – impossible – anyway.
Yet somewhere deep inside your soul the vision remains. Will you liberate your divine nature or push it down into the darkness of the natural man?
Yet ever God calls out to you:
"Arise my son and be courageous;
Stand tall my daughter and shine brightly.
For you are the children of God.
Beacons of light, born to reflect my love throughout the world.”
