The effects of a dysfunctional family on a child are not always evident until that child breaks free and goes out on their own. Saving Nikki, is a novel based on the life of the author, Joyce Moseley Pierce. Nikki gets through the divorce of her parents only to have her world turned upside down when her father remarries. Her mother disappears and her father's new wife becomes a wedge between Nikki, her father, and his family. Without any encouragement or direction, Nikki is left to figure it out on her own.
