I've heard my father speak for years about liberty and freedom. One of the reasons I love writing about history is because I can transport myself and others back into an earlier time when life was simpler and there was less government intervention in our lives.
We can learn a lot from history. Unfortunately, people who remember those times are dying daily. My father, for example, remembers when there was no income tax withheld from paychecks. Nothing withheld from paychecks. His father, a railroad engineer, was the first person in Chattanooga to have income tax withholdings. And then, they said it would only be for a short time. The federal government never does anything for a short time. The withholding stuck and has grown ever since.
People today not only can't remember these simpler times when government didn't meddle in their lives, but they don't know what they're missing. This is why I've put together this little video to paint a picture of what a free Constitutional Republic really looks like.
Check out Ron Paul for President in 2012 -- the only candidate who consistently supports and upholds the US Constitution.
I was at the gym this morning and the TV was on the 700 club. Pat Robertson was talking about how more Hispanics are becoming evangelicals and we need to teach them how important Israel is. They need to understand that the Bible says we need to support Israel.
Then, he added that the Republican party isn't being good to the Hispanics, but he was glad to see Newt Gingrich say something good about them.
The next story that came up was about how Ron Paul is number one in the Iowa polls. The anchorwoman called Ron Paul a "new frontrunner." She defined Ron Paul's campaign by saying that he wants to cut foreign aid, including to Israel. She reported that Ron Paul may have support in Iowa, but he doesn't in the rest of the country. The rest of the country "only" showed 45% of the people seeing Ron Paul as a positive candidate (I thought that was pretty impressive for someone who's been laughed at and ignored by the media for years). She continued to explain that odds were slim he'd win the rest of the country, but he could deny Gingrich and Romney an influential win in Iowa.
In essence, this flow of logic says, "The Bible says we need to support Israel. Ron Paul wants to stop sending aid to Israel, so a good Bible believing evangelical shouldn't vote for Ron Paul. Besides, he isn't going to win anyway. Perhaps, we should be annoyed with him, even, because he's going to deny more suitable candidates an influential Iowa win."
So the real question comes down to the definition of "support." What does it mean for the government to support someone or something?" In our current socialist society, support generally means to throw money at it. But Ron Paul doesn't define support the same way.
Let's say the government comes to me as a business person and says, "We want to support you. How can we help?" You know what my answer would be? "Just stay out of my way and let me keep what I earn. Let me make my own decisions about my business and run my affairs as I see fit."
That is what Ron Paul is saying with his foreign affairs policy. He isn't saying that Israel isn't our friend or we don't care about them. He isn't saying that you can't personally donate to causes that support Israel. He's saying that the Constitution doesn't support meddling in other nations' affairs, yet that's exactly what our government has been doing. The UN and US are constantly getting in Israel's way and crippling their efforts to protect their country.
The best support you can give a person, a business, or a nation is to get out of their way and let them be sovereign and free to make their own choices.
You hear people talk about "helicopter parents" -- mothers and fathers who enable their children by constantly making decisions for them and meddling in their lives. The U.S. has become a helicopter parent for the globe. It's not healthy for other nations and it's not healthy for us.
If you want to hear what Ron Paul really believes about Israel, listen to him explain it for himself and you decide.
A lot of people say leave religion and politics out of your social media and/or your business. Back in 2000 when I started SheLovesGod.com, people warned me that getting too "religious" would hurt my business. It didn't. In fact, it's grown and flourished exponentially ever since.
I don't often get political, but as someone whose mantra is "highlighting truth and talent," I can't sit still when someone as honorable and steadfast as Dr. Ron Paul is proclaiming the truth about what's happening in this country and running for office. While the media has tended to ignore him, they didn't this morning. I saw on ABC where he is #1 in the Iowa polls, surpassing both Romney and Gingrich. You can't ignore the man whose been preaching, "return to the Constitution" any longer.
There are lots of reasons I'm actively supporting Ron Paul -- primarily his constant adherence to the U.S. Constitution. "By their fruits ye shall know them." Dr. Paul's voting record in Congress stands as a witness of this. He has always stood for the same things my Dad taught me growing up, "Less government, more personal responsibility, and with God's help a better world."
He constantly reminds America to stop passing laws at a centralized government level and leave issues for the states to decide. This is what the Constitution says to do. Paul is reminscent of George Washington who refused to be king, in that he will not usurp power. He consistently votes in harmony with the way the Founders designed this nation. They knew that an all-powerful centralized government that entagled itself constantly in foreign affairs would spell the downfall of our nation and destroy our liberty.
If the American way of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness means anything to you, please study the Constitution and learn more about Ron Paul at www.ronpaul2012.com . Decide for yourself which candidate honors the liberty our Founding Fathers fought and died to give us.
Our recent Amazon bestseller launch for Trust Your Heart: Transform Your Ideas to Income has created quite a bit of buzz and questions about what it takes to create a #1 bestseller launch of this magnitude with no joint venture partners.
I'll be sharing the inside scoop with Kathleen Gage's VIP Club members on June 13th, but I will give you two key elements here. First and foremost it takes an amazing team of people! Second, it takes thinking outside the box.
For example, this launch would never have been possible without the masterminding brilliance and copywriting of Lisa Rae Preston. Lisa was my right-hand-woman on this campaign and it was through brainstorming with Lisa that we were able to create a win-win-win for our contributors, our readers and the book.
Lisa encouraged me to lift the lid on my thinking and come up with something that had never been done before, something so amazing, so compelling that people would be crazy not to buy the book.
And that's what I'd encourage you to do when you're launching your book (or product or service). It's the tendency of humanity to copy someone else's successful system. In fact, people copy, copy, copy until they run things in the ground, and they're so overdone they don't work anymore. Instead of copying someone else, think outside the box and come up with something unique that has never been done before, something that is so win-win that people can't resist it.
Then, you'll be onto something!
By the way, if you need help stretching your thinking outside the box so that you take quantum leaps on what's possible, I HIGHLY recommend working with creative genius, Lisa Rae Preston. There's nobody like her!
Here's what one of our readers wrote me this morning:
"I received the book and I love the info and life changing stories. I listen to the audios while driving to work. It's better than coffee to kick start your day." - R. Willams
Some people collect dolls, figurines, or baseball cards. I collect people! There's nothing I love more than meeting someone new with an amazing skill or talent and learning from them. That's why I'm thrilled to announce my new book, "Trust Your Heart: Transform Your Ideas to Income" because I get to share with the world some of my favorite people and how they transformed their ideas into income.
There's so much we can learn from those who have "been there, done that!" These folks all had a dream, faced challenges head-on, and took action on their ideas to transform them into income. And they're sharing their stories in this book -- many of them for the very first time. Not only do each of the 19 contributors share their stories, but they also share tips, strategies and ideas that you can put into action right now to follow your own heart and transform your idea into income.
Last month at the Radiant Success Event, I was able to hang out with several of the contributors to the book. In this photo you'll see me with these wonderful people -- Laura West, Shannon Cherry, Adela Rubio, Janis Pettit and Jessica Swanson (I'm the tall one in the middle). I'd met Adela and Janis before at last year's Radiant Success Event and we planned this year's event together; but it was my first time meeting the others. I'd talked with them on the phone, done business with them online, but never had the chance to meet them face-to-face. What an incredible group of women!
AND, on launch day (Wednesday May 18th), we're giving you something extra special... if you have a business that you want the world to know about, we want to help you! If you buy the book from Amazon on Launch Day, you'll get a listing for your "giveaway" on the bonus download page for the book. This means all the buyers of the book will see your lead generator!
