3 Web Sites for Investing in Tax Liens

In this article I'd like to tell you about three Web sites that I believe are indispensable tools for investing in tax liens. The Web site that I use the most for investing in New Jersey tax liens is LienSource.com. LienSource is a registered servicemark of Savid Resource Corporation, a New Jersey based company. Savid's president, Steve Davis, has been a New Jersey certified tax collector for over 15 years. He has worked in 8 New Jersey municipalities through his career and is currently the tax collector for Bethlehem Township in Hunterdon County. LienSource provides tax sale information and tax sale lists for New Jersey and Florida, Nassau County, New York, and Washington DC.

Foreclosing on Your Tax Lien

Foreclosure procedures for tax liens are different in every state. Some states make it easy for you and you only need to petition the county court, or go through an application process to get the deed to the property. In other states you will have to go through a foreclosure process with an attorney and this may take a lot of time and money. If the property has to go through a foreclosure sale, you may not receive the property, as it will go to the highest bidder at the foreclosure sale, but you will get paid on your lien.

One question that I get a lot about investing in tax liens is what percentage of tax lien properties can you actually foreclose on.

I recently read Paul Martinelli's loving story about trying to get to his grandmother, Bella, before she died. He wanted so badly to hold her hand one more time and to tell her he loved her.
