A few year ago, I remember our pastor saying, “ Here’s the goal: you need to be thoroughly used up when you get to heaven”. He went on to say that we’re not meant to sit on the sidelines of life. We’re meant to get in the game, get our jersey’s dirty and give it our all!. I remember thinking…Yeah!!! I want grass stains on my jersey when my days are done!
Well…I think God took me seriously!?! Since that time, I have become an empty-nester, taken up the game of golf and learned to play bridge. I was just beginning to think that retirement might be right around the corner. But…not so fast…it seems the Lord has another plan for this next phase of my life. As the old adage goes: We plan and God laughs!
